Smallholder Cattle Enterprise Development in Timor Leste
Position title: Assistant Project Manager (National Level Position)
The Smallholder Cattle Enterprise Development in Timor Leste project is supported by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR). It is managed through the University of Queensland, Australia and also involves the Consortium for Large Ruminant Research (CLRR) based at the University of Mataram in Indonesia. It is implemented in Timor Leste through the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MAP) and the National University of Timor Lorosa’e (UNTL).
It works together with farmer/ industry groupings – Redi Karau ba Moris Diak (KAMODI) to identify constraints which are faced in beef production systems and commission research which will attempt to address such constraints. It has three field components consisting of Forage and Cattle production, Business and Market development and Communications for Development (C4D).

Requirements and responsibilities of Assistant Project Manager
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in agricultural related field with minimum GPA of 2.75/4.00 (postgraduate degree is desirable)
- Experience in project management with excellent communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and multicultural team
- Fluency in written and spoken Tetun; proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
Responsibilities:
- Assist the project manager in the administration of project activities
- Assist the technical and C4D teams to develop and implement quarterly work plans
- Coordinate and mentor field researchers and coordinate participatory monitoring activities
- Assist in financial administration
- Provide or assist with training of field researchers and collect and manage field researcher data
- Undertake regular visits from Dili base to KAMODI site locations including south coast
- Provide monthly activity reports
